Philips Sonicare Xtreme Toothbrush Review

The first thing I am sure that the majority of people will notice about the Philips Sonicare Xtreme electric toothbrush is the price. The Philips Sonicare range has a great range of electric toothbrushes, but as great as they are some are very pricy. Here though we have one that is very affordable, but at this affordable price does it come with a lack of quality?

The fact that this can be picked up so cheaply really is amazing. It is a perfect toothbrush that the packaging states can be used be anyone. Even people with braces or brackets. As a person who had braces as a kid I can tell you I would have killed to have a nice comfortable toothbrush like this back then. This is a toothbrush that is really aimed at teenagers and pre teens as well. It would be the perfect toothbrush for a child to move onto after they have used the Philips Sonicare For Kids electric toothbrush.

Teenagers are funny. For example my daughter treats her teeth like they are royalty, but my son needs to be nagged to death in order to brush his teeth. This is a toothbrush that is perfect for all kids of this age. You see the head is so well designed that it carefully can reach each and every individual tooth. Not only this, but it gets there teeth cleaned perfectly in a fraction of the time it would take with a regular toothbrush. I know in my sons case he simply thinks he is to busy to brush his teeth each night, but just a couple of minutes with the Philips Sonicare Xtreme is enough to get rid of the fears that all his teeth are going to turn horrible and fall out.

Philips Sonicare xtreme charger baseThe Philips Sonicare Xtreme is pretty bare bones. There is no internal battery instead it runs on just two regular AA batteries. Which to be fair do last quite a while, but you are best buying a few sets of rechargeable batteries. There is also no sounds to let you know when to move onto a different area. And there is no charging indicator.

I know that the lack of the features mentioned above may sound terrible, but you have to remember this is a budget electric toothbrush. And despite the lack of fancy features it still provides a great service. At the end of the day we all know how teenagers are and chances are this toothbrush is going to end up dropped in the sink at some point. Yet if you want to make sure that your kids do have a toothbrush that is going to take care of there teeth even if you need to nag them to do so. Then this certainly is perfect for you.

What the Philips Sonicare Xtreme lacks in special features such as a charge indicator and internal batteries. It makes up for by making sure that your teenagers teeth are getting a good cleaning each night and morning.
